Why This Piece

What distinguishes Gardenia is its sense of lightness.

Rather than resting directly on a base, the porcelain flower is raised above its stand. The negative space beneath the bloom becomes part of the composition, giving the flower a more sculptural presence while allowing it to be appreciated from different angles.
